COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES (CASA)
Each year, thousands of abused and neglected children in Georgia are placed in foster care. We believe every child deserves to have a powerful voice.
The CASA program utilizes volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the foster care system and stay with each case until the child is placed in a safe and secure home. Advocates bring a sense of urgency to these children’s needs and speak up for their best interests. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.
MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE
The option to continue living happily in your community is made possible with services that address nutrition, medical and household needs.
GEORGIA SHIP
Navigating the Medicare system can be hard for both seniors and their caregivers.
Choices about supplements, providers, and drug plans can have huge impacts on your quality of care and your wallet. Through this program we provide free, unbiased and factual information and assistance to beneficiaries and their caregivers about Medicare, Medicaid and related health issues including long-term care insurance and prescription assistance programs.
Our Georgia SHIP volunteers can often save beneficiaries money by assisting them in completing qualified Medical Benefits applications (QMB) and assistance with prescription drug cost Low Income Subsidies (LIS).
